History

Wright Elementary was built in 1961 on the south side of Des Moines.  Named after Craig T. Wright, a Des Moines attorney, it houses twelve K-5 classrooms, Art, Music and PE programs, multiple levels of Special Education support, and counseling/therapeutic programming including a therapy dog.  Wright’s staff is dedicated to the individual needs of each student, to engage and challenge all children on their learning journey.
