Welcome to Wright Elementary! We are a neighborhood school on the south side of Des Moines. For more than 100 years, the Des Moines Independent Community School District has been providing an outstanding education to the students of our community. Today, our school district is a leader and innovator in public education, offering families some of the best educational choices in Iowa as we strive to become the nation’s model for urban education.

The Wright Elementary Community cultivates hope and creativity while empowering all students. Our beliefs are articulated daily through the words of our Student Leadership Council.

Wright Elementary is about kindness, teamwork, creativity and fun. We try our best everyday to have integrity and perseverance. We are all leaders!
