Wright Elementary is one of three schools in the state of Iowa to be recognized as an Artful Learning School. Howe Elementary is also an Artful Learning School. Wright Elementary is completing its fourth year of implementing the Artful Learning School Improvement Model. Des Moines Public Schools funded all of the teachers from Wright and Howe Elementary to complete three years of intensive Artful Learning training.

Alexander Bernstein toured Wright Elementary to see Artful Learning in practice on May 14. During his tour, he sat down with fourth grade students to answer their inquiries. And after the children were dismissed, the teaching staff met with Alexander to discuss the positive impacts from Artful Learning.
