Biography

Greetings from Mrs. Chronister!  I’m excited to be teaching third grade at Wright again this year!

I’m excited to be teaching third grade at Wright again this year!

After graduating from Northeast Missouri State University (Truman University), I taught second grade in Independence, Missouri, for one year.  After I met and married my husband, Steve, I earned my special education certification when I moved to Des Moines.  I started in the DMPS district at McKinley Elementary as a special education teacher.  Until I landed happily at Wright seven years ago, I taught in various buildings in Des Moines (Mann, Lovejoy, and Morris).  I taught students in grades 3-5 at these schools.

My favorite building in all of my experiences is….WRIGHT!  My favorite grade level for teaching is…THIRD!

I have been a happily married resident of Des Moines for several years now.  I love all that our city has to offer.  In my spare time I enjoy hitting the bike trails, camping, working in my yard, and reading.  Steve and I continue to be  Empty Nesters since our one and only son, Seth, is now in his second year at UNI.

I am thrilled to learn alongside my wonderful students this year!  Thanks for sharing your special darlings with me!

Biography

Welcome to Wright Elementary and third grade! I have spent the majority of my life in education. I have worked in many capacities: parent volunteer, student advocate, teacher associate, and classroom teacher. I have worked with all grades but love the third grade curriculum and students the best! I attended Iowa State University and Simpson College. I have my masters of education from Viterbo University. My husband Dave and I have 4 children and live on a farm south of Des Moines. Our youngest child is a senior in high school. My eldest daughter lives in Ireland with her husband and our 3 grandchildren. My oldest son lives in Ankeny. Our youngest son and his wife live on a farm also. I love creating art, gardening, spending time with my family and friends. My motto: So many of my smiles begin with you!
